The early 2016 Logotype with some color theme
Welcome to my Mystery!
The word “mystery” just crossed my mind while I was immersed myself in the Art of Letters and Text every single day. Mystery is the way I see the world from my window, the way I keep my passion for my work. The curiosity of what message should be communicated behind each letter always excited me. I often ask myself “What’s the Typography around us?” and from my view, I think it is not only the beauty of Calligraphy and Script style with brush but it also the unification of Letters and illustrations to convey a particular message.
I dedicate myself to following every details of each smallest piece, which inspires me create the new way of illustrating each character. I would love my art able to look modern, simple but elegant and more importantly touch our nowadays lifestyle with no more ancient parts, no more lines hanging around and no more ribbons. I believe that the Mystery project each artwork has beautiful story behind every elements of illustrations.
Let’s discover it and share our interest with me.
FIX IT !
A project that takes my all abilities in Typography skill, Each time I found a logo that I think they have trouble, I always ask myself why and how to make it better ... they are big brand, have big name and indentity but as a Typography, as a guy who is in love with letters and text. I always think that there will be one more thing to make it better.
The colletion of 2015 Typography Logo for customer from all around the world.
“I came with Hand- lettering by copy and paste all the random artworks that I like on the internet. In my early work, I just found that the letters were so easy to redraw, they just had some straight lines, and some curves. So, it was not too much difficult to have one letter. But when I had some definitions and saw some real amazing artworks from behance, I knew that I hadto find the elements that made them better, or the way to control them. But because I saw it very simple, so it came to a matter, that I did not know what to go. I also looked at amazon and got some typography books, but the result wasn’t satisfied me, they just talked about fonts, typefaces, stuffs about the normal font-set letters, which I had already had. So I gave up and tried to find “them” myself. I continued copy and paste, and also collected many artworks. And I did find out some most basic rules that works on every single project.”
People just know about Hand lettering is like a part of “traditional typography”, but I think they’re much different. When I said I’m a typographer, people just thought that I work with some magazines, creating fonts, or do some web projects, but that’s not the matter. What I always thought that the letters in fonts/ typefaces/ even they’re so beautiful, but they are just created as the single letter, with their role is standing alone, and they can be paired with any other letters in their font set. And that’s not the Hand lettering, what Hand lettering do, is make each letter work with the the next, the previous, and other letters in the text, then work with the whole text, the decorations and so on. Well, that’s the reason why we have to create the letter by hand, and why the Hand lettering artwork looks really good than if we just arrange the letters in normal font. By deeping into it, I thought that I should do somethings, even if it’s small, that’s creating a short tutorial shows how I approached the Hand lettering, and how people can create the letters of our own. I did break one artwork in small pieces and make some common samples for it. And with your creative and your new arragement. The letters will truly are yours.
The samples are come from 2 sources. First from me with my customers, and the second is downloaded from behance.net, and they’re the references which their designers share it for free with low resolutions. You can see the most images source at 2 addresses below.

Because this book was first written in VietNamese, the English version is just the extended versions, with the limit in Language, I tried my best to translate all I want to do, but I know there will be many wrongs with this versions, so If you find these, I'm really sorry.
And you can get this book free here :
In Vietnam, any name has its particular meaning, they come from the old Chinese meaning. But after many years, people gradually forget them. I just want to bring some aspect of them by the visual way to show some things that we always have, but sometimes we don't know about it. Like a small message to people, that is : "we all have the invisible beauty of our own".
One more little thing, that Vietnamese name builds by the form "family name + middle name + given name". And the names are all coming without "family name" cause it's the friendly way people talking to each other.
